Following the transfer in January 2009 by the Philippine Racing Club, Incorporated (PRCI) to its new race course at the Saddle & Clubs Leisure Park in Naic, the new Santa Ana Park is now a bustling recreational community that has enlivened this part of Cavite.

On days when Santa Ana Park hosts races, the 65-hectare racecourse comes alive with human and horse traffic converging around the racetrack. When dusk falls, the brilliant lights of the track could be seen for miles around, like a beacon that invites people in.

Today, the racecourse is home to about 800 horses housed in the stable facility consisting of 78 stable building clusters. Stable lots are also available for lease to horse owners and four horseowners, to date, have built their own stables. Life stirs in the racecourse as early as 4:00 a.m. every day when horses practice around the track. A swim in the equine pool near the stables completes the early morning practice regimen.

Stable personnel, as well as PRCI’s organic personnel involved in racing operation, have made a smooth transition to the new racecourse. An initial 38 units of barracks housing have been completed for stable personnel and their families. PRCI racing personnel, on the other hand, were provided separate dorm-type accommodation for men and women, complete with amenities.

On weekend races, the four-story grandstand comes alive when racing aficionados come in droves to the track, some making the trip all the way from Manila. Residents from nearby communities have been observed to bring their children to the track to play. Food vendors have been provided a spot near the grandstand which now serves as a food court, while a concessionaire operates a restaurant inside the grandstand building.

Indeed, life at Santa Ana Park Naic has settled into the daily routine of a vibrant horse racing community but amidst better and more modern facilities.
